Tess O'Brien
MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
Tess is a career changer who values the experiences that led her to becoming a therapist. With a background in teaching Spanish, coaching, and dorm-parenting in boarding school settings, she developed a deep appreciation for seeing people as whole individuals within their communities. Her interest in counseling began with the performance psychology she integrated into her team’s atmosphere and grew into a broader passion for mental health. While earning a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University, Tess gained experience supporting students in high school and college settings. Her passion lies in empowering individuals navigating intersecting identities, relationship challenges, grief, crisis intervention, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. Whenever possible, she loves integrating creative or artistic approaches into the therapeutic process.
Tess approaches therapy with warmth, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique experience. Outside of work, she enjoys being in nature, a good crime documentary, and exploring the world with her dog, Luna.
