LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR

Sara Clinton brings to the Windhorse team over twenty years of experience with adolescents and families via her role as a school counselor within the Acton Public Schools. Sara, who specializes in ADHD, anxiety, perfectionism, depression, trauma and cultural differences, is also particularly interested in performance based stress among high achieving students, athletes and families and the transition to adulthood for young people. Sara also maintains a focus on parent counseling.

Leaning heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Sara works to help clients shift their perspectives and be kinder to themselves. She believes creating healthy habits around self care can be the most impactful coping skills. With quirky analogies and a strong sense of humor, Sara aims to make sense of our complex emotional experiences.

Sara earned her BA in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1995. She graduated from Boston University in 2000 with her Masters in Education and later Fitchburg State University in 2019 with a CAGS in Clinical Psychology. She is a Licensed Mental Health Clinician, and has also worked as an outpatient clinician in community mental health.

Sara enjoys gardening, cooking for her family and friends and live music. She does her best to be present and mindful, appreciating the outdoors each season.
