What is Life School?

Helping young people make sense of life’s transitions—one week at a time.

There are stretches of high school and early adult life, too, that are almost unparalleled in their level of confusion and complexity.  Responsibilities at home and at school are increasing just as there is additional pressure to be independent, not to mention the unpredictable rush of many big feelings.  Many of us could benefit from having a regular check-in from a thoughtful adult and fellow travelers of the messy middle, the liminal space between one stage of life and the next.

Windhorse hopes to fill that gap with Life School, a group coaching program that offers encouragement, guidance, and compassionate accountability. It's not group therapy and it’s not private coaching, but a dynamic in-between for those looking for extra support amidst any one of life’s many transitions.

Why Life School?

At Windhorse, we believe that growth happens in the in-between moments—between expectations and reality, between one grade and the next, between who we are and who we’re becoming. Our programs are designed to:

  • Fill in the social-emotional learning gaps often left behind in traditional settings

  • Offer structure without rigidity

  • Help young people apply values-based skills to their real, evolving lives

Who is Life School for?

  • Middle school through college-aged students

What can you expect?

  • Our 2025 session kicks off on September 30

  • Life School meets weekly for 75-minute coaching sessions from 6:30-7:45 PM at WHC HQ in Concord.

  • Each session includes:

    • Executive functioning skill practice, such as planning, prioritizing, time management

    • Group work centered on real-life challenges, values-based decisions, and peer support

  • Curriculum themes evolve with the academic calendar and developmental stage, addressing stress, transitions, relationships, and more.

  • Led by Windhorse clinicians Tess and Tessa, who adapt the curriculum to meet each group’s needs.

How much does Life School cost?

  • $340 for 4 sessions | $100 single session

Life School is more than a curriculum—it’s a space for showing up as you are, learning together, and growing through life’s inevitable ups and downs.
