Naomi Szanto
LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
Naomi Szanto grew up in the southwest suburbs of Philadelphia and graduated with a degree in Psychology from Temple University. She moved to Massachusetts to pursue her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine at Boston University.
Naomi has worked in a variety of settings including residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care. She describes her therapeutic style as direct with a generous dose of humor, empathy, and compassion. Naomi believes in creating a safe space where clients can express their vulnerabilities in a judgment-free zone with hopes that clients can walk away from each session having more insight and a new goal to work towards. Her areas of professional focus include eating disorders, disordered eating patterns, depression, anxiety, trauma, life adjustments, self-esteem, and supporting clients to cope with medical conditions. Naomi utilizes eclectic therapeutic approaches, incorporating evidence-based practices such as CBT, CPT, MI, and person-centered modalities, creating an individualized plan for the client’s unique needs.
Outside of her professional role, Naomi enjoys time with friends and family, explores new restaurants in the city, loves being active, and is an ice cream connoisseur.
