Emmy Callahan

MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER

Emmy graduated from Simmons College with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. Since then, Emmy has worked in a variety of settings including Geriatric Psychiatry, Labor and Delivery and Women's Health, Inpatient Psychiatry, and a specialized unit for pregnant and postpartum women suffering from substance use disorder. Emmy went on to obtain her Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license and has been working in a partial hospitalization program as well as inpatient psychiatric consults. She also completed her training at HRI Hospital and South Shore Hospital, working with LGBTQAI+ patients and the Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorder clinic.

 

Emmy strongly believes in meeting patients where they are, and brings kindness, warmth, and a sense of non-judgement to her patients. Emmy loves to incorporate elements of CBT and mindfulness into her practice. Emmy believes in incorporating medications with a collaborative approach with patients and families.  Emmy has particular interest and experience in working with patients suffering from depression, anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, and PTSD, and is interested in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Emmy is happiest when hiking, doing yoga, and hanging with her sweet dog Baker, who often accompanies her to client sessions.
